Miranda :  Get me Isaac. I don't see my breakfast here. Are my eggs here? Where are my eggs?

Andrea: Excuse me!

Miranda: Pick up the Polaroids from the lingerie shoot. Have the brakes checked on my car.

The girls need new surfboards or boogie boards or something for spring break.

Andrea: I have Miranda Priestly calling for-Okay. I have Patrick.

Andrea: Thank God it's Friday, right? At least Miranda will be in Miami, so we don't have to
be on call this weekend. You know, my dad's coming in from Ohio. Yeah, we're gonna
go out to dinner, maybe see Chicago. You doing anything fun this weekend?

Dad : I don't want you to get behind on your rent. 집세 밀리지 말라고

Andrea :  Dad, how did you-- It's-I'm gonna kill Mom. 아빠, 어떻게...나 엄마에게 뭐라고 할거에요 (엄마때문에 못살아)
->  '난리나다' 정도로 이해

Andrea : Dad, thank you. It's really good to see you.- You too, honey. 
So, you want to start grilling me now... or should we wait till after dinner?
아빠 고마워요. 아빠 보니 정말 좋아요. 궁금해 죽겠죠? 지금 심문 하실래요?

->  See : 만약에 처음만나서 인사하는 경우라면 see를 쓰지 않고 meet을 쓴다.

-> grill : 다그치다 ( Start 뒤에 동명사가 오는 동사 )
     '오래니간동안 꼬치꼬치 캐묻는다'는 느낌의 동사
    예) They grilled her about where she had been all night : 밤새 어디 있었냐고 다그쳤다.

Dad : I thought I'd let you at least enjoy the bread basket first. 최소한 식전빵이라도 먹고 하지 뭐

-> thought의 영향으로 will이 would로 바뀌어서 I'd의 형태 ( 시제일치 )

      예) That worries me : 그게 날 걱정시키네      예) He looked worried : 그는 걱정되는 표정이였어

근데 지금 너는 그마저도 안하고 있어.

Andrea : Dad, you have to trust me. Being Miranda's assistant opens a lot of doors. 
Emily is going to Paris with Miranda in a few months... and she's gonna meet editors and writers
from every important magazine. And in a year, that could be me.

     Being Miranda's assistant, 내가 지금 미란다의 비서로서 계속 움직이고 있는 것.
     '진행의' 의미사 살려질 수 있도록 해석을 잘 해야함.

     예) a lucky break : 행운
     예) We've had a few bad breaks along the way : 우리는 도중에 불운한 일들이 있었다.

Miranda : My flight has been canceled. It's some absurd weather problem.
I need to get home tonight. The twins have a recital tomorrow morning at school.
비행기가 결항됐어. 날씨 때문이래.
난 오늘밤 꼭 가야 돼. 쌍둥이가 낼 아침 학교에서 발표회를 한다구.

-> Has been canceled
     : 과거의 특정한 시간이 정해져 있지 않고, 그저 과어의 사실만을 말할때 현재완료를 끔.
    과거의 시점이 정확할 때는 '과거'를 쓴다. 비행기가 취소된지는 언제인지 모름.
    그리고 언제 취소되었는지가 중요한게 아니라 취소되었다는 것 자체가 중요한 것임

     : 정해진 스케쥴을 말할 때에는 현재시제를 써서 미래를 말하게 됨.
       예) 그 영화는 3시에 시작합니다 : The movie starts at three 
              내 비행기는 7시 30분에 출발이야 : My flight leaves at seven thirty

maybe get a flight for my boss...from Miami to New York tonight?
무리인 줄은 알지만... 제 보스가 마이애미에서 뉴욕행 비행편을 구해줄 수 없나요?  

-> last minute : 최후의 순간, 막판
예) leave ~ the until the last minute : (미리 하지 않고) 마지막까지 미루다

 

Andrea :  Yeah, any kind of jet. 네, 어떤 비행기라도 상관없어요.

Dad : It's right here. Thanks to you. 여기 내려주세요. 감사합니다.

 

Andrea :  Yup, I need it tonight. I need it 내 오늘밤이요, 오늘 필요해요.

Dad : Sweetie. 앤디...

Andrea: I thought you were going out the other. 아빠 반대편으로 내릴 줄 알았어요.

Dad : It's over here, honey. 이쪽이야.

 

Andrea: Tonight. 오늘밤요.

 

Andrea : Hi. I'm trying to get a flight tonight-for tonight- from Miami to New York. 
Yes, I know there's a hurricane. Nothing is flying out? What do you mean, nothing is flying out?
It's for Miranda Priestly, and I know that she's a client of yours. Yes. Yes, hi.
I need a jet tonight from Miami to New York. Yeah. Sorry. Hold on. Hello? 
마이애미발 뉴욕행 비행기 있나요? 나도 알아요, 허리케인. 전부 결항이에요? 무슨 말이에요?
전부 결항이라는게? 이건 미란다 프리슬리의 일이라구요! 당신쪽의 클라이언트요. 마이애미에서 뉴욕으로
오게 해 줄 당장 제트기가 필요해요.

-> flying out : (~에서) 비행기로 출발하다.

Andrea : Miranda, hi. I'm trying to get you a flight, but no one is flying out because of the weather. 
미란다... 지금 제가 마이애미에서 뉴욕으로 올 모든 비행기를 찾고 있지만 날씨때문에 다 결항이래요...

 

Miranda : Please. It's just-I don't know drizzling. Someone must be getting out. Call Donatella.

 무슨 소리! 겨우 보슬비 가지고...뜨는 게 있을 거야. 도나텔라한테 전화해서 그녀 비행기라도 띄어. 
 제트기 가진 사람들 전부 연락해서 알아봐. 이건 네 일이야! 나, 집에다 데려다 놔!

 Andrea : Oh, my God! She's going to murder me. 날 죽일 거야

 

Dad : What does she want you to do, call the Nationa lGuard and have her airlifted out of there?         
도대체 그녀가 원하는게 뭐야, 공군에라도 연락하래?
-> airlifted : (비상지역에서) 항공기로 이동시키다, 공수하다.

 

Andrea : Of course not. Could I do that? 아뇨... 가능해요?

 

Dad : Come on. Come on. 가자..
